Ponte da Barca food, wine and handicrafts Fair. 21st to 23rd February 2014.

Ponte da Barca wine and regional products Fair is one of the most respected winter fairs in the Minho, maintaining its original objective of promoting traditional products from various villages of Northern Portugal. The fair has become an important gastronomic event not only because of the high quality of Ponte da Barca’s delicatessen, but also because of the effort and care with which the delicatessen artisans have dedicated to it over the years, as well as the warm way in which fair visitors are received.

The fair takes place in the main square and the entrance is free of charge. Visitors qwill have the opportunity to sample sausages, cured, roasted or fried, as well as bread rolls, ham, cheese and tomato, and other local delights such as honey, along with some of the famous wine of Ponte da Barca.

It’s really stimulating to walk around the fair chatting, eating, drinking and meeting people who are as interested as you in such products. The event guarantees that visitors will find many surprises, including street parades, music events, samples of fresh barbecue grilled sausages and grilled pork.

Antiques Fair

On the second Sunday of each month, the beautiful old roman village of Ponte de Lima, hosts the Antiques and Collectibles Fair. The event takes place on Avenida dos Platanos, between 9 am and 6 pm (in the Summer), and inside the City Market from 10 am to 5 pm (in the Winter).

An excellent opportunity to mix with the locals and learn from the local objects and pieces of art that are displayed at this event.

Ponte de Lima bike park

From Downhill, Cross Country and Endurance trails to longer tours through the stunning Serra D’Arga scenery, in the Minho region. A paradise for mountain bike riders due to the excellent facilities across an area of approximately 360 ha, ranging from 138 meters to 650 meters in altitude.  This project is born from the desire to build a park devoted entirely to the developing mountain bike skills, creating trails for use by less experienced riders all the way up to the elite athlete and the best there is.
